A checklist for aligning profile links, service information and mobile enquiry controls.
Keep the promise consistent
A profile visitor has already chosen a business or service to investigate. The website should continue that choice. If the listing emphasises a service, the destination page should explain it clearly and offer a direct route to the relevant enquiry.
Choose the destination deliberately
For a single-location business with one main offer, a well-structured homepage may be enough. A business with several distinct services may need a more specific page. For multiple eligible locations, each location page should contain useful, accurate details for that location.
Do not create thin pages just to multiply locations in search. A page should justify its existence through the information a customer needs.
A landing-page handoff checklist
- The name, address, hours and contact details agree with the profile.
- The service shown in the profile is easy to find.
- Directions, access or coverage details resolve likely questions.
- The booking, call or enquiry action is usable on a small screen.
- Confirmation explains what happened after a form is sent.
Measure the handoff, not only the visit
Use a consistent tracking label for the website link and check the landing page in analytics. Then compare those visits with completed enquiries and sales records. A telephone tap is evidence of an attempted action, not proof that a conversation happened.
Review failed tasks first. If the contact button is obscured by a cookie banner or the form does not submit, fix that before debating wording. The profile checklist covers the information on Google itself.
