Decide whether remarketing has a useful role, enough audience and a clear measurement plan before launching it.
Identify the unresolved decision
Remarketing can remind previous visitors about a service they were considering. It is most useful to plan around a genuine unfinished decision: comparing providers, understanding scope or reviewing relevant work. Repeating the same vague advertisement does not resolve that decision.
Check readiness first
Confirm that the audience setup and advertising use meet applicable platform and consent requirements. Verify that the destination page works and that completed enquiries can be distinguished from general visits. Review current policy and eligibility inside the advertising platform before activation.
A very small audience may not support a useful campaign. Do not build an elaborate sequence before checking whether enough eligible people can actually see it.
Match the message to the consideration
- For a complex service, explain the process or scope.
- For a design purchase, show a relevant completed project.
- For a quotation decision, clarify what information is needed and what happens next.
- For someone who already enquired, avoid repeatedly asking them to submit the same form.
Only use claims and offers that remain accurate. Keep the destination consistent with the advertisement.
Measure cautiously
A returning visitor may have converted without another ad. Platform-attributed conversions alone do not prove incremental lift. Separate click-through and other attribution views, account for the sales cycle and use a controlled comparison where practical.
If the basic acquisition journey is broken, repair it first. The lead-generation audit is a better starting point than adding another campaign.
