A scope-first checklist for comparing website quotations, including design, content, integrations, ownership and recurring costs.
The useful answer is a written scope
A website quote is only comparable when the deliverables are comparable. A five-page information site, an online shop and a booking portal can share a visual style while requiring very different work. Start with the jobs the site must do, then ask each supplier to price the same brief.
Reputifly’s portfolio includes S$590 website-design projects, alongside projects with broader requirements. Those examples describe particular projects, not a market-wide price benchmark. Confirm the scope and recurring charges in your own proposal.
Use this quote comparison sheet
| Item | Ask the supplier to specify |
|---|---|
| Pages and content | Named pages, who writes the copy, and how much content entry is included. |
| Design | Original layouts, reusable templates, mobile layouts and revision rounds. |
| Functionality | Forms, payments, booking, account access and third-party integrations. |
| Search setup | Titles, descriptions, indexability, redirects and sitemap responsibility. |
| Ownership | Domain, hosting, administrator access, source files and export arrangements. |
| After launch | Renewals, licences, backups, support limits and response arrangements. |
Separate one-off and recurring costs
Record the build price separately from hosting, domain renewal, paid extensions, maintenance and ongoing marketing. Ask whether tax is included. A low build price can still suit a simple project; the warning sign is an incomplete scope, not the price alone.
For a fair comparison, calculate an illustrative three-year ownership total using each supplier’s written figures. Keep optional SEO or advertising services separate so you can see what the website itself costs.
Agree on acceptance before paying the balance
- Open the actual site on a phone and test navigation, forms and confirmation messages.
- Check that the agreed pages, images and legal information are present.
- Confirm where enquiries arrive and who can recover administrator access.
- List any remaining defects, their owner and the agreed resolution date.
For a concrete starting point, compare the delivered work in our website portfolio with your requirements, then request a scoped proposal through website design.
